Enjoy the sun in our area

The Matilda hotel is built in a horse-shoe shape, in such a way that all of the hotel's rooms and public spaces have unique views; this way all our guests feel like they have "a private balcony to the Ionian sea".

The hotel also offers easy access to two world-class beaches: Vouderi and Porto Azzuro (aka Porto Zorro).

Vouderi Beach

The distance to this beach is approximately 300 metres. The beach is secluded and is completely worth the uphill return trip (nice and easy downhill route on the way there). This is a quiet and clean beach, and one of the rare sandy beaches in the country that allows no for-hire plastic sun-beds or beach umbrellas.

Porto Azzuro (Porto Zorro)

Porto Zorro is otherwise known as "the beach of rocks and flowers". This is a full-facility beach that offers our guests all amenities of a world-class tourism facility. That includes sun-beds, umbrellas, bars that also offer food, and relaxing music.

Both beaches are sandy and offer low-degree and smooth entry points - making them ideal for all ages of visitors.

Further to the aforementioned locations, Matilda is also close to the Banana Bay beach (famous for its crystal-clear shallow waters, the Agiou Nicolaou (St. Nicholas) beach (ideal for scuba diving), Porto Roma, Gerakas beach (one of the most beautiful and long sandy beaches in Zante) where sea turtles lay their eggs, and finally Daphne and Sekania beaches - both desginated national sea park areas.

Near Matilda you will also find traditional island markets, with local produce shops, as well as plentiful tavernas, car and bicycle hire facilities, as well as tasteful pubs and bars.
